Secondly if he knows chewing his mesh gets him attention and fun things he's going to do it more. It is a stress behaviour and if they get in the habit it's not always something they can stop but you can try and not reinforce it with anything positive on top of that. If you're going to take him out make sure you're not doing it when he's chewing the mesh and wait until he stops.

You can also block up where he likes to chew with cardboard or a hemp mat or anything that's going to make it harder to nibble on the mesh.
I do scatter feed! But when I scatter it everywhere he picks it all up in his mouth within minutes so it doesn’t entertain him for long! I sometimes cut up toilet roll tubes and put treats inside which he is also amazing at getting open straight away 😂 he also never seems to shred up the toilet roll tubes when I give them to him! He loves the hanging bar treats but they look really sweet and I don’t want him having a lot... it entertains him quite a bit though! Thank you both
