I honestly probably wouldn't either but I do know some people are more cautious (and some hams more easily freaked out) and it is an option, depending how long you leave in between moves.
I haven't had any use the new cage as a play area before moving like you do yourself (never that well prepared tbh) so I guess it'd be one or the other, probably not both
