My hamster climbed and swung of the roof the first day I had him and he fell too but luckily didn't hurt himself so didn't get upset about it. Sounds like your hamster came to no harm and is getting over the shock. I also listened to advice from this site and made his environment as safe as possible but haven't seen him climbing since. He's more interested in his sand pit aside from food.....
