Applaws make foods in broth and also varietys in jelly; you mustve accidentally bought the jelly ones! I use
these cans (they also have
pouches, if you'd prefer). Other options would be Cosma Nature. They recently brought out
these; theyre smaller portions, so should be less waste. I just ordered some for our hedgehog this week to see what theyre like!
You could also try things like baby food, or even just boil something sweeter like carrots yourself and mash them into a puree so they could be taken up with a syringe, to try and entice him that way.
