Default Re: Baytril by injection?

I’ve given both Baytril and Metacam to hamsters several times in the past. A fair few will take Metacam off of a syringe as it tastes sweet but I’ve usually had to disguise Baytril in food as it’s fairly bitter. I tend to find that hiding it in a wet food is helpful and usually something like baby cauliflower cheese or a good quality wet cat/dog food will get them to take it. To make sure that they get the dose though I’ll only give them a small helping that I know they’ll finish.

I think that some vets assume that you’ll be adding the Baytril to their dry mix which of course they don’t eat much of but hidden in something delicious is often an encouragement.
