9” is fine! I have the 21cm wooden trixie wheels for two of my Russians. Stormy will not use any wheel except a Flying Saucer, I have the 6.5” saucer for her. She’s small enough that she can run a totally straight but I wouldn’t generally recommend a flying saucer as a permanent wheel
