Sorry, I forgot to add - my cats aren’t really allowed downstairs because of my hamsters and the fact that they always liked to bring me presents and tear them apart downstairs. I have installed a baby gate at the top of my stairs and I leave it closed when I go out or when I’m not in the house so they can’t get downstairs into the room with my hamsters. I also leave my door closed, I just preferred the thought of the tank for extra precaution because I really wanted to make sure that my hamsters and future mice are safe.
