I'm so sorry for your loss, you did all you could for her but it's very sad that she's gone to the bridge now.
As Coco said many people use a large pot with a plant on top which is ideal if you don't have a garden or much space outside, if you do have a garden then it's nice to bury them & do something to make the place a little special, other people have their hams cremated & keep their ashes.
