Hello there, I'm new here on this forum. I had a few Syrian hamsters growing up, but hadn't for a very long time until about two weeks ago when I, on a complete whim, decided to get a Syrian whilst at Petco. He is a beautiful sable-colored long-haired and his name is Pip (hence my username, hehe). We're working on becoming friends. He's very young, the girl at Petco thought he was about 7 weeks old when I got him. Currently he accepts food from my hand and occasionally tolerates my picking him up, mostly to extract excess bedding from his (very long and fluffy) undercarriage. I will update this post with a picture of him as soon as I figure out how to attach one.
