Default Re: All About My Liquorice

Thank you Thin Lizzy, cypher, Coco61, Sasha04, pinkpixie, BorisPasha and dreamtree1234 there is no stopping Liquorice confidence it really starting to blossom now. I love her expressions and her cheeky smile - he colouring is becoming more rich as she grown up.

The hazelnuts have been a big hit with Liquorice as like my Sherbet, she enjoys to chew on things that are round. Although the hazelnuts haven't distracted her attention from the legs on her knuff shelf though!

Liquorice's Christmas Cage and Her Naughty Antics

Liquorice has been blossoming recently her confidence has grown so much since I last updated you all that I can almost see it radiating from her although she still has moments which she feel uneasy but we are working on this especially trying to get her more familiar with different people (as it helps if I need to take her to the vets – hopefully no time soon) but some people she is curious and will come over to the edge of her playpen to see and other like my mum who she will hear her voice and will hide behind me and won’t feel comfortable until she know she isn’t in the room. But at the moment I am just happy if she just comfortable around me.

Playtime have been going wonderfully – she is always so excited to come out that one day I decided to instead of getting her out before I go to cook my dinner that I would do it afterwards as I was still a bit tired from work but at 5:00 she was out wondering why she hadn’t been out (typically playtime would be 4:15) – when trying to inform her I would get her out later she looked at me confused and decided instead that she would occupy herself in her cage. When it time for playtime I will call her and she will emerge fairly quickly from her nest beneath her silent runner shelf and will happily either climb into my hand or be picked up. But whenever she out in her playpen she has so much fun – she races around at her full speed, rubbing her hip on everything including myself (as I sit in her playpen with her) and will attack her rosewood hyacinth and seagrass tunnels – she loves chewing these – until she is ready to go back in her cage after a few cuddles. Once she returned to her cage she eagerly await the arrival of a treat which she gets for being a good girl. I tried getting some photos of her whilst in the playpen but when I had my camera out she was more interested in climbing in my lap so only could get these two photos ...

Recently I have been really noticing when Liquorice is in heat – not by the smell as she doesn’t smell as half as bad as some of my past girls – but by her naughty tortie being on full display. When she in heat she is wild! So excited to see me constantly wanting attention and cuddles – that as soon as she sees my hand that within a flash she climbing up my arm. I don’t think she realises that she is a terrestrial animal when she in heat as all she want to do is climb – even the other night she would climb up on top of her new bottle holder and when I switched my light on as I was in bed she was siting on top of her bottle looking as proud as can be – that why now that has a kitchen roll tube on it as that was so nerve wracking to see. She will even try to climb up her wheels despite them spinning around which leaves her to be standing on one leg whilst the other three are pushing the wheel around – sometimes she standing ontop of a tunnel whilst doing this balancing as the tunnel is wobbling slightl! But last night she was climbing up the willow wreath at the back of her cage then reaching the wire top to do monkey bars!!! At least she manages to gracefully get down. Although the funniest moment happened last night, amounst her craziness she managed to get a piece of corn husk – which she chewed off one of her chew toys – on her face across her nose, despite her energetically demanding cuddles it remained balanced on her nose, I was laughing so hard that I tried to get a photo but she knocked it off before I had a chance.

Like Treacle, Liquorice cage has also had a Christmas transformation although I haven’t fully finished decorating Liquorice’s cage as I was trying to do whilst she was in her playpen – which wasn’t entirely easy. But here is how it looks at the moment , she seems happy with it. Cage looks a bit empty to me so ordered her a few more chews toys to help fill up the more empty spaces up – plus she loves chewing.

Plus here a few more cute photos of Liquorice …
