It's not unusual for them to get a bit obsessed with carpet!
You need to make or buy a playpen that's big enough for you to sit in then you can cover that area of floor with something she won't chew or won't damage when she chews like big sheets of cardboard or maybe even an old sheet or something, make sure it's safe if she does chew it though.
