Yeah I completely understand the leaving it in, but Monty has a habit of moving all of his substrate and making his cage patchy, including near his wheel. That's why I tried to introduce slowly, as I don't want him falling out onto a plastic patch he makes during the night. I'll take caution with how I deal with the wheel. Thank you for your help!
