Of course you don't need to put her up for adoption. Accidents happen but I'd advise you to bin that ball and don't get another one! I'm not a fan of hamster balls as I feel hamsters go nowhere in them. They are just in a plastic ball that there is no escape from. I would get yourself a big plastic bin playbox that she can go in when you are cleaning and make sure it is escape proof! A smaller cage or carrier could also be used as a safe place for her to stay while you clean her out. Playtime must always be supervised at all times and don't take her anywhere where she could get down a hole or out a door. Ours love to play on the bed and climb up pillows and under the duvet. You can only give her the best you can give and as much attention as you can so know you are doing your best and don't beat yourself up about it.
