Itnwont matter at all that the two species are different genders.

I have a dwarf hybrid (pets at home adoption) and a roborovski who live next to each other in barred cages who do ot seem at all bothered by each other.

I have even kept male and female syrians in the same room with some interest and cute noises but no problems.
