I've never had a dwarf as Hamper is my first hamster but to be honest he was so easy to tame I didn't even know if he was ever untame! But that's probably because he's a ladies ham. (We used to keep our two Syrans together, Hamper and my brother's hamster Hammy and they never fought until they mated. Then we needed some separation.) Either way dwarves may be better or not but I do recommend getting both cause that means MORE CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!!
