Default Re: Best Wheel for Robos?

I'd get an 8" wheel. There isn't another 6" one apart from the 6.5" silent spinner (which as mentioned can be stiff and not spin properly - it's since a manufacturing change).

Main Options are:

8" wodent wheel - petplanet sometimes sells them
8" karlie wood wheel mentioned above.

There are others but the 8"wodent wheel has small holes so a robo can't fly out. They tend not to fly out of an open wheel either - I just always worry that the wheels with the bigger holes they might jump out and misjudge the size of the hole and get hit - but have never heard of that being an issue.

I have a 9" wood wheel for our robo with a cork surface - very similar to the 8" karlie (might be 9" actually) that Flower Fairy has. I paint the whole thing with plastikote - including the cork surface and it's been fine.

Wodent wheel easier maybe - the wood wheel a bit of a safer sturdier design possibly but both are fine. Our robo has a flying saucer as well and uses both. I think he prefers the flying saucer overall. They soon stop flying off when they get used to it.
