To my knowledge there is currently no 'pure' Campbells/Winter Whites in the USA however many owners find that their hamster has a closer resemblance to one species or the other and I feel that is probably how the pet shops determine what to sell them as.

I think that different countries have different definitions of what a Hybrid is. Some say that they are a Winter White if their ancestors for the past x generations have all been the one species but other countries consider a hamster to be a Hybrid if there was ever another species in their ancestry.
