Thank you both. So I realise this isn’t really the place to post this but I still go through spells of really missing my past hamsters so I thought I’d put them altogether here. This is for myself more than anything but thought it might be interesting anyway.

Pearl. My first hamster - I was 11! She was before my HC time, I learnt so much since having Pearl. She was a wonderful first hamster and I’m so lucky to have had her.

Mango. The most placid, sweetest boy I’ve ever had - loved this guy to pieces. He would potter about and was always so relaxed and happy. Thinking back I’d love to have another Syrian.

Mimi. You can now see where my username originated from lol. She was my energetic, adventurous girlie who wouldn’t sit still for a second! Constantly wanted to come out and play which was always a lot of fun.

Pip & Pop. These girls were amazing, they did everything together and are the reason I have a roborovski today! Pip was happy to be handled and come out which was lovely. Pop was a wild little thing! But so photogenic that actually most my photos are of her lol.

Sapphire & Topaz. These two winter whites I picked up at a Bath hamster show. Originally I wanted one but couldn’t face leaving Topaz - who promptly turned out to be a bully! They were quickly separated but it allowed their entirely different personalities to shine through. Saphy was the cuddliest, sweetest girlie who completely melted my heart. Topaz was a little terror - always full of mischief and so demanding, she lived like a queen!

Pumpkin. Hybrid grumpkin was really my sister’s but I treated him like my own. He was a nippy little thing and it took so long to earn his trust but at the end, it was completely worth it. He was such a sweetheart and grump at the same time!

Bamboo. Also came back from a Bath show a few years later. She was so shy, and it took a lot of time but in the end she came round and enjoyed her cuddles and climbing all over me. Would love to have another Chinese at some point, they’re such amazing hamsters. (The time stamp on this pic is several years out not sure why!)

Boppit. Although not a hamster, she was certainly part of the hamily. She was a ball of energy and had the loveliest nature. I ended up with her as she had a litter and her previous owner got a bit overrun with gerbils!

At one point I had seven of them at once - I must’ve lost the plot but it was the best experience. Could definitely not do it again though. Others came and went too who I’ll always remember, but these guys were my original hamster family and I’ll never forget any of them.
