Default Re: Should I clean my hamster's tube? *Pic*

Ok hey! Sorry I haven't updated this for a while! But my boi loves his new cage and sometimes doesn't even wanna come out!
There's something else I wanted to address - bedding.
So I put in half of his old bedding when swapping him into the new cage, but I've wanted to upgrade to something other than woodchip for a while, so I have the Carefresh stuff that everyone recommends now.
I wanted to completely fill the base of his cage with this, but it means obviously getting getting rid of the woodchip entirely. Is this safe? I know you're supposed to leave some of the old stuff in there, but it gets everywhere and gets stuck to his long fur, so I wanted to do away with it.
I'm not going to touch his house or rearrange the cage in any way, just replace the substrate. Will this be ok? He won't feel too stressed out if I leave him for a while to get used to it will be?
