I'm a bit of an early bird

I'm sure he'll appreciate the smelly substrate when you change the cage, sorry I misunderstood what you meant by cleaning.
He obviously enjoys out of cage time! Once he's in the new cage it may take him a while to settle down but with more space & more to do then he may stop the attention seeking behaviour as long as he still has a good out of cage session each day.
Just see how it goes when he's moved over.
