I was really scared of my Syrian when I first got him too, he's never bitten anyone, even now if I stroke him and he jumps it makes me jump too and I pull my hand back so quick thinking he'll bite me. I know it's silly because he never has and I've had him for 2 years, I'm just a very anxious and jumpy person. When I first got him it really helped to have my boyfriend do all the handling at first, to prove to me that he wasn't going to bite anyone. Do you have anyone to do this for you? If you watch someone else handling your hamster then you can see that it won't bite you
