You do get hairless hamsters as it is a specific genetic mutation. You can also get very nearly hairless hamsters who have been bred by mating satin coated hamsters together and this is the breeders fault and very much frowned upon. As long as he is healthy and behaving normally then I wouldn't worry about it if he has always been this way.
