Default Re: New Syrian Hamster Behavior

I'm sure all the new stuff will be great for Pancake I totally understand wanting to spoil him and it won't have done any long term upset (just a few days setback). it does sound like you're making good progress although I'm sorry he nipped you. Dreamtree gave some good advice there. There could also be an element that he is still getting used to what's food and what's not, although it may also be a territorial thing like Dreamtree said. Don't let it deter you, I've had some early nippers that have turned out to be the sweetest hams I ever owned, if at all possible, try not to be too nervous around him expecting a bite. He does sound like he's a bit nervy, so give him time and love and I'm sure you'll get there. It sounds like you're doing all the right things though, the bath thing has always worked for me so fingers crossed it works for you too.

I'd love to see some pics when he is settled
