Since I was constantly going to pets at home and they'd always ask if I wanted to join the Very Important Pet thing I thought why not and did sometime last year.
If you are unfamiliar they send you emails and post with promotions and vouchers and stuff but they all have your pets name on (eg "Crumpet carer of Hannah).
As you may know Crumpet died in january but as I was upset I ignored the pets at home things until march when I got my new hamster Tofu. I went on the website and changed the information of my pets removing Crumpet and adding Tofu.
Last week I got an email saying it was Crumpets birthday! So I got a £1.50 voucher (which I won't use because that just feels wrong). It geuinely triggered my depression. I got in contact with pets at home and it turns out this happened because the "VIP mailers are arranged around 4 months in advance".
I am now absolutely terrified that I'm going to get an email or letter on my birthday (June 11th) with Crumpets name on. Like I understand that they would be sorted in advance but 4 months?! And you'd think if your pet died they could sort it out so it was a near immediate change.
