Default Re: bin cage sizing help

Hi Brian, good luck with your new hammies tomorrow. I have not used a bin cage but I know people here recommend the largest SAMLA bin from Ikea. More expensive but better quality is the Really Useful range of plastic bins and those are popular too especially with breeders as they are so sturdy. That is what I would go for if I had to get one. There an 84l size but that could be too small. Also there is a size around 130l but I can't remember exactly.
I know you will need 2 in case of a fallout between them and you need to move quickly to rehouse one. Have fun setting them up!

PS You might need to do some DIY for ventilation. Cut out most of the lid and then mesh it. Some do that to create a front area of ventilation and mesh that too.
