Never doing a full cage clean again would be fine, I almost never do full cage cleans anyway!
Just stick to spot cleaning & do small areas of the cage only if they really need a bit of a clean.
I wouldn't change anything now, you have to let him guide you really & see what he's still taking an interest in & what he can manage which might change with time.
As long as he can get to food & water easily & get around the cage without any risks of falls or anything he should be fine.
