Bird Sunflower seeds are safe for hamster - this is what I also use for my hamsters as this is the only way I can find natural sunflower seeds in their shells (I will always just double check that the ingredients just say sunflower seeds so you know that nothing else has been added).

Not all bird seeds/feed mixes are safe though - some have added ingredients such as grit so always make sure with any bird seed the ingredients have nothing else listed.
