Our last Syrian grew very big within the first 3 weeks. He was about 6 weeks old when we got him. So it is possibly your hamster may be more like 2 months old. Either way. He is a lovely chunky boy. What does he weigh? I had no idea hamsters could be big and even asked our pet shop if they were sure he was a hamster! Lol.
I haven't weighed him yet. I want him to settle in before I handled him but I am curious on how much he weighs. My other Syrian wiegh's 130g and my dwarf weighs 30gs. I didn't get him that first day but I couldn't stop thinking about him so I talked my husband into having another hamster in the house lol and we went and got him the next day. I had to order another large cage so for now he is in a ( before I new any better ) cage. It reminds me of a birdhouse cage, with two platforms but a 8.5 wheel fits in there. I know I'm going to definitely get a larger wheel for him if he's that big as a baby lol. I always worry the first week in getting a hamster, I'm afraid they'll get wet tail. before I got Bearie I had a long hair hamster who got wet tail and I felt guilty and sad. So right now I'm very worried and he has been on his wheel a lot even now, he needs to go to sleep. And our house is shaking like a earthquake because houses are being built up around us ( new housing addition) lol anyway sorry so long
