Hello everyone,

We recently welcomed a hamster in to the family as we gave our son one last week. Chip is a beautiful little Syrian with grey head and hind quarters and a white band about her middle. She is quiet little thing, not like some of the characters I have read about here, perhaps she biding her time and working us out. We adopted her from the local pets at home store and will do our best to give her as good a life as we can.

As a complete hamster novices it has been a steep learning curve for us all and I should have done more research before we brought her home. I made the mistake of believing everything the salesperson said but the excellent advice on this forum is setting me straight.
