I have a two year old teddy bear hamster that is usually loving and active. Approximately 2-3 days ago I noticed her lying sprawled out lying on her stomach which is very abnormal for her (she usually sleeps curled up in a corner in her pile of bedding). She also was quivering and not eating the treats she loves. As I observed more closely I noticed she was walking oddly and lethargic.
She also seems to be breathing fast.

Last night and today though I saw her eat and drink water. She was also sleeping in her normal spot. Her body never felt cold and I keep the room warm for her. Today she was eating a bunch and she ran around in her ball. She is also not as shakey.

Should I take her to the vet (I live in NYC however and would have to take her on a long subway ride which I think will be traumatic for her)? Anyone else's hamsters have symptoms like this?
