It depends on the robo. My old robo Hector lived in a mini duna as he didn't like big spaces. I personally think that if you needed to seperate because of fighting then what could potentially be a bit small in the long run for certain hamsters is still a better option than keeping them together. I think when your ham has had a couple of weeks to settle in then you'll know if he is unhappy with the space or not. But in the meantime while you find an option that you'll be happy with I'd say it'll do.
