What food are you feeding?Some foods already have issues aside from nutrition(such as Harry Hamster having confirmed artificial dyes,or certain synthetic vitamins that can cause problems over time).

A good example of a diabetes friendly and dwarf friendly US food would be Higgins Vita Garden,especially in the new formula which has 15% protein(previously 12 percent I think!).While it could use a little boost,Pure Bites freeze dried shrimp would do well for this(lower fat than mealworms,plus the overwhelming majority of dried mealworms are from China which should be avoided).
