I'm not sure if this will be seen in stores yet or how recent this minor GA change(definitely a slight change in ingredients for Sunburst,nothing to worry about!)is.However,it is still something that needs to be known for US members as it would make a lot of lives easier when it comes to diabetes prone hamsters.
Both Higgins formulas now have 15 percent protein according to the Higgins website.Because of this,boosting protein via a high quality mealworm source(non-Chinese,non-irradiated)or freeze dried freshwater shrimp or freeze dried hamster safe meats would make a diabetes friendly slightly modified diet possible in the US.
The two thirds Carefresh one third Higgins Sunburst with added flax and freeze dried hamster safe meats approach would still be fine for Syrians.Between those two the protein would be roughly 16% with the new formula,but nothing else with Sunburst seems to have changed.
