Khali enjoyed a nibble or several on the bars of her old cage ( she had 2 "large" pets at home cages joines together by tubes. She has never bothered to chew the bars that i know of and she has only ever chewed around the hole in one end of the wood once. I put a bolt and washer through, put an inch thick piece of cardboard in front and the wheel in front of the cardboard. Problem solved. She has had the odd nibble at the carboard, but its too awkward from her to get to to chew through it
