The detolf is quite narrow, but nice and long. There are metal bars in the detolf one would be at the top and hopefully out of reach, but the other would be low, so could be chewed.

The low one would be under the substrate, so that may put the hamster off chewing.

The ends are wood so could be chewed too. But I have only heard of a few hamsters who have chewed the wood.
