Honestly as long as you understand what you're getting into with robos it's perfectly fine to have them as a "beginner".Stereotypically it may be frowned upon but ultimately it comes down to providing the best care for any individual animal.Having passion for an animal and not settling for what is more acceptable is best(as long as you're capable of providing the care for said animal),so if you feel better in some way about the robo species compared to other hamster species I'd say go for it!
