Ive had/got 3 hamsters, My first Jeliza was very tame when i adopted her at a few months old from an old owner, she was very quick to let me hold her, id say a few weeks.

Igor my Russian Dwarf was very cage terratorial, he didnt let me hold him till about 3 months in,
My other hamster Daenerys is still not tame, she wont let me handle her at the moment, i've had her a few week, almost a monthish now.

So in my experience it varies lots depending on the Hamsters personality and background.
