You can put a hamster in an exercise ball more than once a day. My previous hamsters used to use their balls for about 2 hours each evening. Only 15 minutes at a time before letting them out for food, water, cuddles, pee break. This was years ago and nowadays play pens or hamster safe areas are used more than exercise balls.
