I agree with CMB and Cypher about the mineral stone. Listen to your vet. Sounds like you are lucky to have such a good one!

Apologies for any misunderstanding caused by my original answer. It was not clear from your first post that your hamster was sick due to a deficit. The concerns I highlighted would only apply if the hamster in question did not NEED more minerals. As yours clearly does, the same issues are not there.

The one thing I would be slightly worried about is whether she is actually getting those extra minerals, especially if they are important for her health! To my knowledge, no ham of mine has ever touched a mineral stone or lick lol. Hope your little one stars chewing hers. Since you say you haven't seen her do so, perhaps you could ask your vet for an alternative way of getting more minerals into her more directly - just so you can be sure that she has taken them? Tell her to get well soon
