Hamsters are little escape artists! He must have thought you made a neat ladder and were helpfully sitting there so he could climb out.
I see what you mean about the ears - he is going to be a very big boy once he grows into them! He does still look very small, despite how much he's grown though.
So Newt likes blueberry, huh? Haven't tried Mushu on that yet. He is the same with monkey nuts: why open them yourself, when you can get a human to do it for you with less effort?
I read a thread on this forum which estimated that every 10 days = 1 years for a hamster. If Newt is 8 weeks old, then he is 5.6 years old
