Unfortunately, there's really not much you can do to get a cat to become uninterested in hamsters. It's just feline instinct to want to hunt (or at least watch) small furry creatures. Though it may not appear that Vanilla drop cares, it can be very stressful to have a predatory animal hanging around even if they're not harming them. Is there a way you can keep your cat out of the room? Perhaps closing the door or putting a gate in front? Keeping your cage in a high, out of reach place would help too! Best wishes
