It's alright! Your hamster will be okay until you're able to afford a bigger home, the important thing is that you care and are willing to make changes when you see they're needed
There are lots of easy ways to earn money in a relatively short period of time. For example, you could walk a friend/neighbor's dogs. You could also offer to petsit, cut a neighbor's lawn, or sell old things that you don't need anymore! Another cheaper option for a cage would be a bin. I'm not sure where in the world you're located but there are many large bins available for relatively low prices! Why not check around at local stores? Or you could even see if somewhere like Craigslist/gumtree have listings for used tanks or large bins
