It comes in black now as well

The Grosvenor Large Rat and Hamster Cage with Shelf - Black - Little Pet Warehouse

I think it's a very nice cage. For a Syrian it might be a bit on the small side in terms of being able to fit things in - but I have seen some nice set ups in it. I think it would be good for a larger dwarf hamster (it's not too tall so less fall risks) or s small Syrian if set up to make the best use of space so you can have enough enrichment in it. Or as Drago says, for an older hamster.

I also think it would make a good travel/holiday cage as it comes apart and packs flat - so wouldn't take up a lot of space for transporting but a decent size for a hamster while away from home.

The advantages of the lower height are - less fall risks. But if you had an 11" wheel in it, it would mean not having much substrate at the wheel end and reducing the floor area even more a bit. Hence maybe better for a smaller Syrian or dwarf needing an 8" or 10" wheel, so you can still have a good depth of substrate.
