I went out and did some shopping after reading cypher's reply on healthy food being important, which made me feel bad about my fried breakfast and lunch
(though it was what I had around that didn't require me to leave my house)

Have anyone heard about warm water with salt and cayenne pepper? I found that gargling it removes the soreness for a few hours. It was a tip that I found on the internet some years ago, and it helps making you feel better, but I don't think it does anything to combat the cold itself
