Depends on location, in my area it's a hit or miss. The smaller pet store will carry them sometimes but Pet Smart & Pet-Co doesn't sell them at the moment. It's been at least 6 months since Pet Smart stopped selling Chinese hamsters.

I got my Chinese through the SPCA. Maybe call rescues nearby? Or if your in the states there is adoptapet.com. Or pet stores back room for hammies who aren't on the shelves. I think sometimes they put the sick ones in the back room tho?

Or Craigs list?
