I would suggest instead of catching your hamster try and let it be their choice as much as possible.This helps a ton when you want a hamster out of a cage for any reason,whether it be something like cleaning or just out of cage time or during the taming process.Lots of things will work for this,like appropriately sized mugs or upside down houses.I've even used a plastic garden tool I intended to use as a cleaning tool at first and that worked really well for my Syrian
