1. Take one toilet roll tube and a selection of treats.
2. Fold in one end of the tube. It doesn't have to be too secure as hams will attempt to chew through the main tube rather than unfold it.
3. Put some treats in.
4. Fold up the other end of the tube.
5. To make it even more of a challenge, push your treat tube into another toilet roll. This way the hams can put their heads in either end and try to reach to chew, or work their way down the outer toilet roll tube first, or work through two layers of toilet roll tube!

It's as simple as that. I have given seven hamsters one each this evening, and they are all loving it!
I have a winter white sunfire hamster, and I made him similar treat tubes. I use toilet paper tubes and shredded white paper towels. You load these from the top. Hold the tube upright on a flat surface. Push enough paper in to fill the end, then add some treats. More paper, more treats, until the tube is full. You get the idea. It's up to you how tightly you pack the "filling." My hammie seems to like them packed fairly tight. He goes in there, pulls out some paper, gets his treats, then leaves it alone for a while. Later on he comes back for more. I've only had him a couple days but I've rescued lots of hamsters in the past. They go through the treat tube in a few days and like to nest in the shredded paper. They seem to enjoy it.
