I'm not sure you'd want to remove the bars from the detolf though as it is designed to have the frame in there, I don't know if the glass would be strong enough without it. Could you try covering the bars with cardboard as a temporary measure and if there are particular areas she is focusing on, could you try blocking them up with a house or something? I know a couple of people have had this problem before so hopefully one of them can give you some tips of what helped them.
