You could try a DIY cage with a glass front - much lighter and totally customisable! There's the IKEA Billy Extension Cage (there's plenty of tutorials on expanding it by ErinsAnimals) and recently this by VanillaHamHam (on YouTube) or just Vanilla on here. It's another IKEA cage hack.
10 gallons sounds a bit small, but like Fluffagrams said, it might work, it might not.
