Default Re: Hamster Balls?

There seems to be a very mixed opinion on them and their suitability depends on your hamster really. If you've got a Chinese or a Roborovski then balls are probably best avoided as they have very small feet that can get stuck in the ventilation holes but yet I know of some Syrians in particular who enjoy a short run in an exercise ball.

I think the important thing with exercise balls is to remember that the hamster has no access to food, water or a retreat if they need it so it's best to keep the time that they're in there brief. Block off anywhere you don't want the hamster to go, particularly stairs and be aware as you move around the room where the hamster is so that you don't accidentally kick them.
